I've had extremely vivid lucid dreams for my entire life. Unfortunately, they're only about half lucid in I'm aware that I'm Dreaming but I cannot control the setting that I find myself in. The setting is most often some kind of horror movie and is being controlled by a malicious third party not unlike Freddy Krueger. After some years of therapy I learned that this was most likely my Jungian Shadow which represents a suppressed part of your subconscious. Mine preferred the name Mr. Shadow. Literally the architect of nightmares that I would sometimes have to spend years living through every night. I used mindfulness and meditation to minimize the impact of these terrible dreams. However, over a decade after starting this series, I discovered that I was suffering from thiamine deficiency and two tick-borne illnesses. The tickborne illnesses are of the lime family which are babesia and Bartonella. Both of these are known to cause extremely Vivid and often violent dreams and infected individuals. Treating these illnesses elicited and extremely negative reaction from Mr. Shadow.
